UK Political Parties Manifestoes

My best man Mark created this site.

http://www.theywanttobeelected.com/manifestos/

"How is this website more accessible?

Most parties only provide hard copies of their manifesto (which you have to pay for) or online copies in formats such as PDF or images which require extra software downloads and are accessible to many people with disabilities.

This website is made using html. This makes it easier to read with screen readers (used by blind and partially sighted people to browse the web), lets people increase the size of the text and lets search engines index it more easily."

A really good idea and one that hopefully the parties will do in the future themselves.

There is a new site based on TheyWantToBeElected for the Lambeth local elections called www.electionmemory.com .

It does the same with local manifestos as TheyWantToBeElected did with national ones, plus people can record their priorities for their ward and find out about candidates.
