Harry Potter

What would have helped the Postman to deliver Half Blood Prince would have been me actually ordering it. Ah.......

Damn

More Books

Well have read the two David Morrell books (see last post for more info )
Protector was good and had the usual amount of interesting info about weapons etc. The neurolistic programing was interesting, am planning on seeing if I can use it at work :) A better book about this subject is The Fifth Profession (also by David Morrell)

Long lost is a lot better. It about a man coming to terms with something he did when he was a kid. And how that lost him his kid brother and then his wife and kid. And obviously seeing as this is written by the same guy who wrote First Blood, it's also about what he does to get them back.

Oh I am aware of the irony of me enjoying reading books like these when people have tried to blow up bits of London.

On a lighter note Harry Potter 6 is out today so that'll be the next book I read (as long as Mr Postie delivers it today)

Oh Dan does this a lot better .

Reviews of books read recently

Well after seeing KJ Parkers Scavenger trilogy (the one with crows on each of the books) for ages and wondering about it I noticed he/she has a new book out called Devices and Desires which has a really nice cover (yes covers do make a difference) and sounded interesting.

Really good, an adult (not sex) fantasy novel with no pixie shit, it is however the first in a trilogy. It reminded me of China Mielville's Perdido Street Station, although it's neither as different or political as that.
So I read some of the reviews for his/her's first trilogy Fencer and saw lots of people get grumpy that it appeared to have a unhappy ending.

Anyway I got hold of the Scavenger trilogy from Amazon's market place. (Very cheap books, very expensive postage and packaging). So reading them after I knock off a few of David Morrell's newer thrillers. Long Lost and The Protector.

Will report back with general stuff about all of these when I have finished them.

Have fun

Real US Grand Prix

Well I was wrong and right.

Rossi made it to 3rd on the grid (MotoGP has 3 postions a row so on the front row) but didn't win, he came third behind Colin Edwards (2nd) and Nicky Hayden, who got his first ever MotoGP win.

Nicky and Colin had ridden the track many times before but that doesn't take anything away from either of them. Both rode an brilliant ride. Nicky was 2nd in the first free practice and then first in every session.

Rossi did however extend his lead on the championship to 79 points (that's over 3 wins clear) so he was pretty happy as well
